My Best
Friend
They say a friend is always true,
that kind of friend, I've found in you.
In the beginning, from experiences past,
I didn't really think the friendship would last.
But here we are, through thick and thin,
we have remained the best of friends.
I've learned from you and you from me,
which is how true friendships should really be.
You are a gift from God above,
you are adored and dearly loved.
Whichever direction our lives may go,
we'll be there for each other, of this I know.
My friend, my hero, a soldier -- you,
A man of honor in all you say and do.
I dedicate this poem to you at will,
my treasured friend, whom I call Bill.
My Best Friend
