Reaching Out
by Karen
I tried to reach out,
but you drew away.
How can I help, what
can I say.
I tried to find you,
but you put up the wall,
then, I tried to stand
back and assess it all.
How do I reach you,
how can I care.
How can I find you when
you're not willing to share.
Without each other how
can we survive.
Being alone, is merely
being alive.
What will it take to
make you whole.
What will shed light
and joy into your soul.
Reach out to someone,
let them show you the way.
Allow yourself the joy
of finding a new day.
For you are worthy of
good things in your life,
turning away from the
pain and the strife.
Take the hand of someone
you trust.
Do this for you, for
your family, you must.
You deserve to be happy,
you deserve to find joy.
Don't succumb to another's
deceptive ploy.
Walk tall, knowing deep
in your heart,
that by reaching out,
you are thinking smart.
Joy will find you, allow
it to come.
For when you do...wholeness
and you
will have become one.
